Something New

For a while I have been thinking about becoming more active in writing and posting on my various social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter).   I enjoy writing and talking about God, the Bible, Jesus, Christianity and the intersection of them all in the 21st Century. (And I hope you enjoy it too 🙂 ).

I was trying to get a Bible study back up and running at my church and we weren’t having any luck with dates and times given schedules. Someone throughout the idea of doing it online; it had never crossed my mind.  I did my first Facebook Live video talking a little about it (below) and I would like to know your thoughts.

If this takes off I will post links on my social media accounts as well here at evandolive.com

Thanks for everything!

In Christ,

Rev. Evan

  1. Hey Evan, Just watched your Facebook intro to the online/FB Bible Study idea, and appreciate your openness and candor about “What the heck would this really be like and how to do it?” I’m not on FB (an old guy with techno-deficit-disorder) but, as an interim pastor (U.C.C.) way up north in a suburb a bit west of Chicago, I signed up a while ago for your emails… which I read occasionally with appreciation, and that’s how I learned what you’re trying to get started. Have had the same problems getting Bible Studies going and keeping them going — time, place, frequency, etc., so will be interested in following you and hoping you and the Holy Spirit can bring something into being here. If I’m any example, you might have a wider audience than your congregation obviously. There must be other such things already going in some places, but I haven’t looked into it. Maybe you’ll get some references or tips from others already engaged. If you keep sending out the specific FB address in your email posts I’ll be able to follow, but otherwise not, since I gave up the FB account. Wishing you well, and Godspeed. Hope it works! Blessings of shalom, and for a Hope-filled New Year, Greg

    • Greg, thank you for your words of encouragement and ideas about the Bible study. My thought as of now is to embed the videos like the way I did on the intro video after each session; there is a possibility to also upload the videos to YouTube too.

One of my goals this year is to write more about spirituality and theology,

Thanks again for your words and support.

      In Christ,

      Rev. Evan
